I am a university professor and manage our Department's DreamSpark account. I am encountering a problem when some students attempt to install either Visio Professional 2013 from DreamSpark with Office 2013 Professional or the other way around. Students need both programs for my course and others in our program. Though not included with many Office packages Visio is considered an Office component.
Our students are eligible to install Office 2013 Professional free and can download and install free from a link within their campus eMail site. This Office availability is not part of DreamSpark and I have no management control over the subscription. Sometime between Fall 2014 and Fall 2015 the Office installation approach changed to Click-to-Run while the DreamSpark download options seem to be limited to the traditional Windows Installer approach (download an .ISO file and install from there using a variety of approaches).
When students attempt to install both products they receive an error. This is the error they receive when the install Visio first and then attempt to install Office. I am looking for a strategy to have students install from these dissimilar approaches as Excel and Visio are absolute requirements for my course.
